What cookies are
Cookies are small pieces of text a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies — like localStorage and sessionStorage, used below — work in much the same way: they let a site remember something about your visit.
Why we use them
RegalVisionCo uses cookies and similar storage only to keep the site and your basket working. We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies, or track you across other websites.
Strictly necessary
These keep the site, your basket and checkout working, and cannot be switched off.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_shopify_essential | Shopify | Used by Shopify, which runs this store, so the shop works properly and securely. See Shopify’s cookie list ↗ for details. | Up to 1 year |
cart | RegalVisionCo (this site) | Remembers your basket — it holds a reference to your Shopify cart. | Cleared when you close your browser |
session | RegalVisionCo (this site) | Only set when the site needs to remember something about your visit on its server — for example, if you sign in to an account. Set as an HTTP-only cookie, so page scripts cannot read it. | Cleared when you close your browser |
| Shopify checkout cookies | Shopify (checkout.regalvisionco.com) | When you go to checkout, Shopify’s checkout — which runs on checkout.regalvisionco.com — sets its own cookies to process your order securely. These are controlled by Shopify; see Shopify’s cookie list ↗ for specifics. | Set by Shopify (see Shopify’s cookie list) |
Storage on your device
These are kept in your own browser so the site works the way you would expect. None of them is used for advertising or to track you across websites.
| Key | Storage | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
cartLastUpdatedAt | localStorage | Set by Shopify’s storefront framework (Hydrogen) to note when your basket last changed. | Until you clear your browser’s site data |
rv-catalog-sidebar-open | localStorage | Remembers whether you left the catalogue filter sidebar open or closed (only set once you open or close it). | Until you clear your browser’s site data |
rv-walkthrough-played-v3 | sessionStorage | Remembers that you have already seen the site’s introduction animation, so it does not play again in the same browser tab session. | Until you close the browser tab |
react-router-scroll-positions | sessionStorage | Part of the website’s framework (React Router); restores your scroll position when you navigate back to a page. | Until you close the browser tab |
consentHeader | sessionStorage | Set by Shopify’s storefront framework to hold this tab’s privacy (consent) status. | Until you close the browser tab |
Analytics
Shopify’s analytics only collects information about your visit with your consent. Because this site does not currently show a consent banner, no analytics cookies are set and no page-view or basket analytics is collected. Shopify does receive a small technical record of the site’s privacy status, without setting analytics cookies. Orders you place are recorded by Shopify as part of processing them.
Marketing / advertising
RegalVisionCo does not currently have any advertising or marketing pixel (for example, Google Ads, Meta/Facebook Pixel, or TikTok Pixel) installed on this site. If that changes, this page will be updated to list it.
Consent and your choices
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their own settings; doing so may stop parts of the site — particularly your basket and checkout — from working correctly. This site does not currently show a cookie-consent banner: it uses only the cookies and storage listed above, and analytics and marketing cookies stay switched off. If we ever add cookies that need your consent, we will ask before setting them and update this page.
